Description
Lledo Promotional Diecast Models UK / Europe Toy Fair Models - 1990s Choose Model / Year Jack Odell, one of the founders of the Matchbox diecast company, founded Lledo (Odell backwards) in 1982, and launched the "Days Gone" range of models in 1983, taking over a market previously popularised by the Matchbox "Models of Yesteryear" series. Models produced by the Enfield-based company became popular among collectors worldwide. The Days Gone range celebrates the bygone days of road transport, and includes vans, trucks and other vehicles, many featuring famous brands and household names of the past and present. Lledo also became very important for producing promotional models, enabling companies and organisations to order models with their own logos or brand names. Lledo also used their models to promote their own business and would regularly produce models to give to prospective clients who visited their stand at Trade Shows or Toy Fairs. These models were all produced by Lledo to promote their business on the annual Trade Toy Fairs circuit, including the UK shows in Harrogate and London. Excellent pre-owned condition, in original boxes. 1991 to 1996 boxes are plain white cardboard, whilst 1997 and 1998 are Lledo's usual "Promotional Model" boxes with transparent viewing pane. Boxes are generally very good, with light wear but no serious rips or splits, though there may be a couple of light creases. A few have reference numbers or model details written on the box, and one has a small sticker affixed. Models themselves are excellent, near-mint condition. See photos - all photos show actual items.
